TangoFest 2010 - Tango at its best

Dear Tango Friends,

In almost just a month from now, the 6th year of our own Argentine Tango Festival is about to begin.  And with this year’s celebration we are holding TangoFest 2010 in both Mudgee and Sydney, with the Sydney portion starting on Tuesday night, March 30 with the Sydney Welcome Milonga at the Dance Alive Studio in Regent Street, Chippendale.

To add more activities to this year’s TangoFest and get more people into tango dancing, we are launching the inaugural Tango In The Vineyards in Mudgee with an Opening Night Dinner & Show at Prince Hill Wines on Saturday, March 27. So get a group together for a lovely evening of good food, good wine and the spirit of the dance. Click here for more details.

There will also be a Tango Competition in Mudgee and the prizes look fabulous!! They include one night's accommodation in a De Luxe Room at the Medusa Hotel in Darlinghurst, Sydney, one pair of ladies tango shoes and one pair of men’s  tango shoes to the value of $ 150 each, a one hour private lesson from one of the guest teachers, a Milonga Pack, a Festival Workshop Package, and bottles of high quality wines.  So why not join the fun in Mudgee and have a short holiday.  Accommodations in Mudgee are available to suit everyone’s budget.  And if you do not want to drive, join us in the bus we are hiring from Sydney.  Mudgee is just 3 ½ hours drive from Sydney and the friendly people are waiting for us!

You would have often heard of what some people rave about tango styles and one of the most commonly talked about is the Villa Urquiza style.  You do not have to go to Buenos Aires to learn it.   The World Tango Salon Champions Daniel Nacucchio and Cristina Sosa are going to teach this in one of their workshops right here in Sydney.  Learn the very elegant steps of this style with giros and combinations.  And there are plenty of workshops to choose from for a much better understanding in executing different tango steps to be taught by our top invited guest tango teachers .

And most important of all, the Early Bird Rates will come to an end this weekend.  Take advantage of the well discounted rates.  Visit the Festival website on www.tangofest.com.au.  And being a not for profit event, invite your tango friends to support our own Festival.

Keep on dancing!

Lilian
